American Ambassador to Hold Press Conference on His Visit to the Bouake & Korhogo

(ABIDJAN) On Thursday, February 16, 2006 at 9:30AM, at the American Embassy in Abidjan, Ambassador Aubrey Hooks will hold a press conference to discuss his visit earlier this week to Bouake and Korhogo.  This will be his first full press conference since he arrived in Cote d’Ivoire in August of 2004.

“This press event will offer the Ambassador an opportunity to share his impressions from the trip and of his meetings with the New Forces and officials in Bouake and Korhogo,” said United States Embassy Spokesman Brett Bruen.  “The Ambassador’s trip was a unique opportunity for him to see first-hand the situation in the area controlled by the New Forces and to have extended exchanges with community, political, military, and religious leaders.”

Journalists interested in attending this press conference must confirm their presence and those of any photographers accompanying them, to Mr. Folli Teko, Information Specialist, at 22 49 45 99 or via email at tekfx@state.gov no later than 4PM on Wednesday, February 15, 2006.
