Book of the Year 2006 Program

More than 150 leaders came together at the Economic and Social Counsel on December 21 to celebrate Steven Sample’s book, “The Contrarian’s Guide to Leadership” – the book most often checked out of the Information Resources Center in 2006. The embassy has organized two round-table discussions on this book.

This program, organized in partnership with the Librairie de France, allowed the public access to this important leadership tool, which offers aspiring leaders guidance and strategies for success. Readers expressed appreciation for Sample’s tips on anticipating problems, encouraging “free thinking”, and developing the art of listening. Many participants described the strong, positive impact that the book has had on both their professional and private lives.
