The Ambassador's Fund for Cultural provides direct small grant support for heritage preservation in developing nations.  Côte d’Ivoire is one of the countries eligible to compete for these funds, which are used to protect specific heritage sites as well as indigenous languages, music, art, and other forms of ethnographic material.

In 2001 and 2002, the Museum of Civilization and Culture of Côte d’Ivoire won grants totaling almost $50,000 to support its efforts to document and catalogue its archeological and ethnographic material.

The competition generally begins in February of every year, and entries must be submitted by May.
