Style Guide

The Ivorian government ruled in 1985 that it wished to be refered to in all languages as, "Côte d'Ivoire".  The US Department of State uses Cote d'Ivoire, however journalistic institutions vary in their respective styles.  While the Economist uses Côte d'Ivoire, the Guardian and the BBC both use "Ivory Coast", not "the Ivory Coast".
