It’s All About America on the Ivoirian Airwaves

Radio Nostalgie, one of Abidjan’s most popular radio stations dedicated two weeks to presenting an in-depth view of the United States. During hour-long interviews stretched out over two weeks, American diplomats, Ivoirian staff members of the Embassy, and Ivoirians who have studied and worked in the United States, painted a detailed portrait of the vast and complex country. This was the longest coverage given to any country as part of the station’s “Destinations Prestiges” program and allowed time to go beyond American culture and business, to talk about the important work the Embassy is engaged in working on in Cote d’Ivoire, such as AIDS, refugees, and cultural exchanges.
