Religious Leaders’ Press Conference on the Peace Process

RE: Religious Leaders’ Press Conference on the Peace Process

The collective of religious leaders in Cote d’Ivoire (CCRRPCI), composed of Christian denominations, Muslims, and other prominent religions, will hold a press conference at 8:30AM on February 18, 2005 at the American Culture Centre in Cocody. This press conference will be an opportunity for the Ivorian religious leaders to speak with journalists about their role and responsibilities in the peace process and to announce the coming roundtable discussion on what is each person can sacrifice to bring peace.

The collective of religious leaders, in collaboration with the American Embassy and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) will organize this roundtable discussion entitled, "Peace and Reconciliation: My Share of Sacrifice." The roundtable will take place on Monday February 21, 2005, at 8AM at American Culture Centre. This discussion will bring together nearly 150 participants from the major political parties involved in the peace process in Cote d’Ivoire.
