Voting Message (01/11/2007)

U.S. Embassy Abidjan

All American citizens are reminded that 2008 is a presidential and legislative election year in the United States.  Overseas citizens are eligible to participate in primary, run-off, and special elections that occur throughout the year, as well as the general elections in November. As you know, primaries are already underway!

We strongly encourage you to register to vote and/or request absentee ballots as soon as possible to ensure that you will receive all ballots for which you are eligible. Requests for absentee ballots and completed ballots may be mailed through the U.S. Embassy. Note: the U.S. Embassy cannot deliver absentee ballots.

The official US Government website for overseas absentee voting assistance is the Federal Voting Assistance Program website at www.fvap.gov

The Voting Assistance Officer at the U.S. Embassy Abidjan is available to answer questions about absentee voting.  To contact the Voting Assistance Officer, call 225-22-49-45-94 or send an e-mail to ConsularAbidja@state.gov
